AI & search visibility · the free check
Your buyers ask AI assistants now. Do they name you?
AI assistants now answer the questions your buyers used to type into Google, and each answer names two or three businesses, not ten. The free AI & Search Visibility Check shows whether yours is one of them: three real buyer questions, run through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, recorded word for word and dated.
Dated and screenshottedWithin three working daysTwo fields, no call
Sixth on Bing. Seen 7,486 times. Clicked 50.
The likeliest reason: the answer was already on the page, above the results, written partly from this site's own content.
01 · The shift
What's happening to search?
One answer
not ten blue links
Two or three
businesses get named
Every week
the answer changes
A buyer who asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini reads one answer. Either your business is in it, or a competitor is. Good Google rankings don't guarantee a place: an assistant needs facts it can read and an answer clear enough to quote.
The traffic didn't vanish. It became a citation.
That's the chart at the top of this page: a site sixth on Bing for its main search, seen 7,486 times and clicked 50. The likeliest reason is that the answer was already on the results page, written partly from that site's own content.
02 · Evidence
What does this look like on a real site?
The evidence comes from fxstrength.org, a free currency-strength tool run by Found via AI. Every number comes from its own Bing Webmaster Tools exports, and the exports are available to see.
Same site. Same technical work. Two different questions.
Broad query
“currency strength meter”
7,486 impressions · 50 clicks
Contested. Every strength meter competes for it.
Narrow query
“gold strength meter”
30 impressions · 19 clicks
The site's angle: gold, silver and Bitcoin in the meter, which most currency meters leave out.
Google navigates. AI acquires.
On the broad, contested search the site is one of many. On the narrower one that matches what it does differently, it's the answer. The difference isn't technical; it's the question. The site sits in a narrow niche, where results come faster than in a crowded market. Full case study and sources
03 · The check
What does the free check cover?
01
What AI assistants say
Three questions buyers actually ask about your main service, taken from Google's own People Also Ask, run through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Cited, ignored, or a competitor named in your place.
02
Who owns the top of Google
Who holds the top result and the People Also Ask answers for those same questions. They sit above everything else and often absorb the click.
03
Whether you're machine-readable
Key facts in plain HTML or locked in images and PDFs; structured data that matches the page; AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt.
04
Whether you're described consistently
How your site, directories and listings describe you, and where they contradict each other.
04 · The offer
What does the check cost you?
Almost nobody runs this check at all. Here's what it would take you, and what it takes me.
It's quicker for me because I do this weekly and know what to look for.
- A one-page findings report, screenshotted and dated
- The single fix I'd make first, named
- On a private page that only you can open
- Dated and screenshotted
- Delivered within three working days
- Two fields, no call, no deck
05 · After
What happens after the check?
- 01
Free check
About an hour of hands-on research, delivered within three working days. The report is yours to keep, whatever you decide.
- 02
90-day sprint
Paid, fixed fee. The foundations fixed, the question you can own found and proved, and the answers built out from it.
- 03
Monthly retainer
The same buyer prompts re-run, screenshotted and dated each month, with new and refreshed pages, because assistants keep changing their answers.
There is usually a narrower question a business like yours could own outright. Finding and proving which one is the first thing I'd do in a paid engagement. The full scope
06 · Guarantees
What do I guarantee, and what don't I?
Guaranteed
Every deliverable ships on the date we agreed, and every report tells you the truth, including the months nothing moved.
Measured, not promised
Citation rate, top-of-Google ownership, rankings and traffic. Google and the model providers control those. Anyone who guarantees you a percentage is guaranteeing something they don't control.
I report what the numbers say, including the months they don't move.
Not included: paid media, link building, and any review seeding or planted mentions on forums or review sites. Those platforms penalise the brand, not the consultant.
07 · FAQ
Isn't this just SEO?
It builds on SEO but isn't the same. SEO earns a position in a list of links. AI visibility earns a place inside the answer itself, which depends on whether your content can be quoted cleanly, whether AI crawlers can reach it, and whether the web describes you consistently. Good SEO helps, but it doesn't guarantee any of that.
My rankings are fine, so why am I not in the AI answers?
Usually for one of four reasons: AI crawlers are blocked in your robots.txt or at your CDN, your key facts sit in images, PDFs or JavaScript, your pages don't contain a short self-contained answer worth quoting, or other sources describe you inconsistently. Rankings measure none of these, so a well-ranked site can still be invisible to assistants.
Can you guarantee I'll be cited?
No. What an assistant cites is decided by the model provider, and it changes week to week. Anyone who guarantees you a citation rate is guaranteeing something they don't control. What I guarantee is that the agreed work ships on the agreed dates, and that every report tells you the truth, including the months nothing moved.
Do you use AI to do this work?
Yes, and I'd rather say so than hide it. Research and drafting are AI-assisted, which is why I can work quickly. Every factual claim is verified by hand against the raw source, and citation results come from actually running the prompts in each assistant, not from a tool that estimates them.
Why is the first check free?
Because I'm building a small number of documented case studies, and a free check is the fairest way to start. It's about an hour of my time, and findings arrive within three working days. If the findings are useful and you'd say so later, that's all I'd ask. If they aren't, you've lost nothing. You request it with two fields, your email and your website, and there's no call to book.
Do you work with competing companies in the same industry?
Yes. But findings about one company are never shown to another, not even anonymised. Each company's findings sit on a separate private page that only they can open, and the work I do for one is never reused as evidence when pitching a competitor.
08 · Start
Ready to see what the assistants say about you?
Two fields. Findings within three working days, on a private page only you can open.
Want it walked through afterwards? Reply and I'll do a short video or a call.
